[MCPE-68473] My Chat is not working

So it's kinda hard to explain but my chat just doesn't work. When I try to put something in chat my sentence completely dippears after I press enter.. Now sometimes it will work as it should be but most of the time it doesn't.. Its almost impossible for me to chat with others in Minecraft... Please fix this!

Yes but that's not the problem... Like I said my chat doesn't work I can't chat at all most of the time..Chat works fine on my Ipad and other devices.. Currently my iPad having problems.. So I have to play Minecraft on my Switch..

Are you connecting to a Featured Server, and if so, which one? Or is it a Realm, or a shared multiplayer game from a friend?

Since this is a child account, what is the setting when you log into the child Xbox Live account under
Profile / Privacy Settings for: You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice and text ? This should be set to either Allow or In-game Friends.

If possible can you upload a video showing the sentence you type and it disappearing? There are other reports of some words being deleted, and also not being able to see other people's chats, but I have not seen one about not being able to see your own chats

This setting is known to affect chat in some ways. If you can't find the setting the parent account may need to be used to access it and certainly to change it.

Im not sure how to access this on my Chromebook.. Plus I don't think I have a parent account I made this back in 2015 or 2016 and somehow made account without a parent...

You can manage your Xbox Live account using a web browser. Go to: https://www.xbox.com/en-US/live and log in. Find the privacy settings for your account. Even for a child account it should be possible to view the settings.

In general for explaining a bug the easiest approach is to just be as detailed as possible about what you do and what happens as a result. For chat, this would include information about exactly what you type, and exactly what happens when you press <enter> or equivalent, along with whether it is on a featured server, Realm or shared world.

Also, some chat issues are covered by other reports and fall into two basic groups:
1. (some) other people can't see any of my chats, but I can see theirs
2. I can't see (some) other people's chats, but they can see mine.
In both cases, the cause can be due to privacy settings on the accounts, and child accounts are typically more restricted.

Like I said can't access my Xbox Live Privacy Settings it's different on Chromebook I think...
And both 1 and 2 are my problems. Is it possible for me to report them both??

If your chromebook has a web browser you should be able to log into your account. It's just a web site, no special app needed.

As I understand from your description the chat text just disappears entirely for you when you press Enter. This is not something I have seen reported elsewhere, which is why a video that shows exactly what is going on could be helpful. The other problems are already reported so please don't create new reports for those cases, but you an always search for them and vote / comment with additional new details.

I'm sure you also know that some text will be censored in chat but if it disappears no matter what you type it's not likely that.

My chat works fine now! I think it was Nintendo keyboard system.. After Nintendo's software update its work good so far... Next I'll go to Nintendo if this happens again.. Thanks for the help!
