Xbox will recognise that someone (me) is playing MCPE but will not give an option to join it. Tested with and without resource/behaviour packs. Affected Versions likely isn't accurate.

No, as I wouldn't expect that to be needed, as it works the other way around. That may unfortunately be the issue.
