When I use pick block (button 3) any mushroom I pick gives the light brown mushroom instead. The reason I think this happening is because it probably searches the list and it finds the light brown as the first result.
Update: This issue is fixed with all the blocks beside the regular mushroom block. When pick blocking a regular mushroom block you get a brown mushroom block.

By default, the pick-block numeric ID is the same for all mushrooms and defaults to the brown one(I think).
Like Boda said, this is fixed in the betas. Wait for them to be released, or play the beta 🙂
