Resource overload issues

The Switch really struggles in some situations.  I expect this to some extent, but recently it started hard-crashing on load: it was raining, with Natural Textures applied, and a couple of packed animal pens in the chunk.  I had to disable Natural Textures to get it to even start up.  And it seems like this caused a bunch of my villagers to despawn, and I'm pretty upset about that...
