My friends and I are playing on a survival Realm and our villagers and sometimes wither skeleton spawns are very buggy and usually don't work for some reason. Some of the problems with villagers are them not breeding, changing their profession or choosing one, or not even going to sleep. These problems go away for a couple hours when the realm randomly kicks everyone off and everything is working and back to normal. If anyone can help, that would be great. If you need more information I can answer your questions.
