If you watch the video below it'll sum everything up. But basically when you take off to the skies in your elytra the parrot still thinks it's riding your shoulder so it floats above you really weirdly. This happens randomly so I'm not sure what the cause is but it doesn't happen every time. 🙂 Hope this helps.
