Ender Chest Vanishes in The End (Nintendo Switch)

Hello,

Maybe I am doing things wrong, but I place an Ender Chest safely in my base in the overworld and I place an Ender Chest on the arriving obsidian platform in The End. When I die and return to The End, the Ender Chest in The End is no longer there. I tried again after placing blocks on the platform and the chest on them; the Ender Chest still disappears. The End Chest in the overworld remains intact. I have placed regular chests in The End on the same platform and they're still intact.

Again, I could be doing something wrong, but I feel the Ender Chest shouldn't be vanishing after death; especially when I have it placed on blocks, undamaged by the Ender Dragon. Please help. Thank you.
