Snowball thrown thru nether portal freezes in place

So I'm basically starting this report really quickly, and will go back and put a possible picture and more evidence of this bug. Anyways I was in the nether at coordinates, ( ) and the portal is ant the overworld coordinates ( ). And going through the portal to the Nether side and throwing a snowball through the portal, caused it to fly into the portal and disappear, then after going back into the overworld I put some items away and did some build and about 2 to 3 minutes later I go back into the Nether and while the portal does its thing I see a snowball in the portal just sitting there in the middle of the air. It was not a lag I believe because I did not see any other possible glitches because of lag or anything like slow walking or moving. ( one last thing I threw like a half stack of snow-balls and only one stayed in place)
