This issue started a few weeks ago. Both my mom and I share the same WiFi connection, and it's strong. We have the same exact version of Windows 10 Bedrock (it started on the 1.14) and we now both have the updated version of 1.16).
I'm able to join her world, but she's unable to join mine. When she tries, it always says "unable to join world". I've tried uninstalling my Minecraft, checking my internet settings, etc. I can invite her to my world, but she never receives it.
When I check on the multiplayer section in the setting menu, itβs grayed out and I can't click anything. I tried leaving the world, and making sure my multiplayer settings on the main page was correctly set up, which it was, then click on the pencil next to my world, also ensuring everything is set up, but once I'm in the game, it's grayed out every time.
A fix would be really great since my mom got Minecraft specifically to play in my world with me since quarantine is taking its toll.
Thank you,
EDIT TO ADD: I had my daughter try joining my world, and she received the same "unable to join world" message - we also share the same WiFi
Β
EDIT #2: I joined my mother's world today for a few minutes to help her out with something. She asked for more help later, and when I went to join, I received the error message she was receiving when trying to join my world (the reason for this open bug issue) "unable to connect to world". Is this going to be fixed any time soon???

yeah a similar thing happened to me from 1.12 to a later release of 1.12 where I could not connect to my friends iPhone when playing on the same wifi. I recommend restarting the devices and the router if you haven't done that in a while
I was hoping the 1.16 would fix the issue, but no luck. The desktop computers are restarted every night, and the router was also restarted yesterday morning - still can't have anyone join my game π
I have the exact same problem except I can't even join other people's games. The issue is only for p2p worlds, realms works just fine. The enable "Multiplayer Game" Toggle is greyed out in the world settings along with related settings. Attempting to join a friend's world results in the message "Unable to connect to world". The problem is account wide, it happens on both my phone and PC. Reinstalling the game on both platforms did nothing to help. Not sure what else to do. I should also add that I have confirmed all my Xbox One/Windows 10 Privacy settings are correct, and those are not the problem.
Let us know if issue still occurs. If so, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter).
