[MCPE-88120] Xp sometimes ignoring mending

I'm honestly not sure if this is intended but sometimes, majority, it ignores my mending enchantment and I collect it. I am holding the equipment out and it isn't fully repaired. Is there something I can do to fix this or do I just have to wait?
