In Java edition, Axes do 2+ more damage than Swords (for example, Netherite Axes deal 5 Hearts of damage while Netherite Swords only deal 4 Hearts)
In Bedrock edition, Axes only do -1 less damage than Swords (for example, Diamond Swords deal 3.5 Hearts of damage, but Diamond Axes only deal 3 Hearts)
It would make sense if Axes deal more damage than Swords in both versions of the Game.
How to reproduce (optionable)
Open both Java & Bedrock versions
Grab any Axe (both versions must use the same type of Axe
Damage any mob (both versions must hit the same type of mob)
Notice the mobs health bar in both versions
Observed Result: Swords deal more damage than Axes
Expected Result: Axes deal more damage than Swords
This bug isn't really such a big deal, but it would (again) make sense to fix.

Ok well this will have to wait until the weapon cooldown comes to bedrock. Glad you said something about that.👍

It's because bedrock doesn't have a weapon cooldown, but java does. In java if you attack to quickly after attacking, you do less damage, it's not on bedrock yet because it's very controversial. Axes take longer to recharge which is why they have more damage.
