For my desert village, I built a 3-story apartment building for all of the villagers to sleep in, with 30 beds total. The problem is that most of the villagers just hang around the back of the building at night and can't even get to their beds on the 1st floor. Even breaking the back wall open isn't always enough to get them to go to bed. So what I'm trying to ask for is a fix for the villager's ability to get to their beds.

Villagers are having trouble searching their beds if it is 4 Y levels above them, don't put their beds too high.
