Netherite boots are stuck in my inventory bar in creative mode.

With all items in my inventory bar (showing on screen at all times) I can simply tap another item in creative mode to switch items in that slot, therefore removing the item and putting a new one. However with the Netherite boots, when I try to do this, it just stays there, no matter what item I try to replace it with, it won't leave that slot, I can't even move out to another slot, or out of the inventory bar and into the regular inventory, it's just stuck there. I do not want to always have Netherite boots on my inventory bar, please fix!
