Cannot create world or join someone elses world - "bad file number"

Tablet = Anson 9" Inch Quad Core Dual Camera ANDROID 4.4 Kitkat Tablet PC WIFI 1024X600 Resolution 8G bluetooth HDMI

This has been happenning on the last few versions (only version 8 works - 9, 10 and now 11 all display this issue). The game installs fine, then when it is clicked on it opens and displays the title screen as expected. It is only when you click to start a new game it fails with World cannot be created - Bad file number. It also fails when trying to join another persons world (on same version). Version 8 (when loaded through apk file) works fine so a change in versions 9 onwards must be causing this issue. I have three tablets - two of these Anson tablets and one samsung tab 2. No such issues on the samsung tablet. No issues exist with any other apps that are downloaded and played across the three tablets.
