(Parity) Stronghold Generation

Stronghold generation on Bedrock Edition is diversed compared to Java

Here are multiple reasons why:

  • Some strongholds won't generate an End Portal room (this is considered as a feature and not a bug)

  • 3 strongholds generate from 0,0 within a ring of radius between 640 and 1152 blocks then other strongholds are randomly generated throughout the world

  • Stronghold generations on MCBE are inconsistent unlike Java where there are 8 rings of radius from 0,0 which a given amount of strongholds generate

  • Loot table generation on Altars, Storerooms, and Libraries are lower compared to Java

  • No Iron doors spawn on MCBE strongholds

We're expecting this issue to be resolved ASAP since finding multiple strongholds is much harder and unpredictable to locate on where to find them. Having multiple players on a realm/server and sticking on one end portal room is strange compared to Java Edition.

However, this issue is Invalid.

You reported a parity issue. We are only tracking parity issues that meet the following criteria on this bug tracker:

  • The feature affected by the parity issue is present in both Bedrock Edition and Java Edition in the latest release or development version

  • The feature behaves differently in one edition than in the other

  • The parity issue was introduced in Buzzy Bees (Bedrock Edition 1.14 / Java Edition 1.15) or later and was not present before

Any parity issue that does not meet these criteria are not tracked on the bug tracker and should instead be reported on the Feedback website.
