Half of End return portal is gone.

I successfully defeated the ender dragon in my primary world, Mountain Island Fortress and entered the exit portal to go back to the main world. Everything seemed normal, the special credits rolled, etc. However, when I returned to the End to explore, the portal to the outer islands had disappeared and the half of the return portal was also gone.
