Lava Bucket glitch??

I had a lava bucket in my hand, i accidentally hit left trigger on my xbox controller(default) & NO lava had appeared. No lava was in the bucket tho. I then fell off of my house freaking out about the lava i THOUGHT was about to burn my house down, but all of the sudden i heard a creeper sound and INSTANT death. I have full iron on and had 6 creepers already not do this to me.

Side note, when i accident placed the lava bucket, i might have clicked in between a block, a bed, and a crafting table.

Below i put my house how i have it setup, and the location i accidentally placed it at. I am in creative making sure the lava REALLY was not any where before i came here.

NEW EDIT !!!!! ------ I figured out EXACTLY what happened. You can place lava on the side of the block above the bed and the lava just disappears completely.

You can make a 2 * 2 hole in the ground, place a bed, and as soon as you place it on the side of the block, but above the bed, it will disappear.
