SendCommandFeedback prevents display of outgoing messages

Summary

With game rule SendCommandFeedback set to false outgoing whispers/tells do not show but still show for the recipient.

Steps to reproduce...

  1. Start a multiplayer game, Realm or BDS instance

  2. Change game rule SendCommandFeedback to false (/gamerule sendcommandfeedback false)

  3. Send a message to another player using /tell /w etc

  4. Note that the outgoing message doesn't show

What I expected to happen...

The outgoing message should show for the sender regardless of SendCommandFeedback game rule.

What actually happens...

The outgoing message does not show for the sender.

Notes

  • The recipient receives the message as normal regardless.

To be clear, this is related to non-operator users seeing their own outgoing whispers.

This is not an issue with the operator ability to see all server whispers.
