minecraft windows 10 not working after 1.16.2

A couple days ago when the new 1.16.2 update happened I tried logging onto the hive and every time I got on the entire game crashed. I tried this with a few other servers and also realms and the same thing happened. I decided to give it some time and came back the next day but now the game isn't even making it past the loading screen before it crashes. my friends have also had problems with it being very laggy or crashing a lot on their switch but they are still able to play.
