Critical hit particles linger long after initial hit

The particles from a critical hit sometimes continue to generate long after the critical hit has occurred (up to 15-30 seconds after the hit). If the mob in question is still alive, the particles generate wherever it moves. If the mob in question dies, the particles generate at the point where it died. Often times, the app crashes shortly after the particles stop generating.
