Me and my friends discovered on our SMP that whenever we enchanted a tool or a piece of armor that was not even previously named to something different from the original name, the name became a bunch of hashtags, and, this has even started to happen with enchanted books bought from librarians. I experienced something similar to this when I re-named my map, it became a bunch of hashtags as well
