I just found this issue today. I was running around in my realm and talking with my friends when they told me they could not see my chat, I couldn't see theirs either. We communicated through signs in which they told me they could talk with everyone else, but never did I see a message. I can't recreate this issue, but it is something brand new I just ran into.

There are certain account settings that will prevent players from seeing each other's chat. Please contact Microsoft Support, and they will reach out to Mojang if it appears there's a bug here and it's not an account configuration issue.
Please clarify whether or not you can still reproduce this issue or if it only happened the one time.
