Realm lagging causing disconnect and resetting progress when in nether

My realm has recently started lagging for all players on the realm causing frequent disconnections for all players and when rejoining progress is lost and items that were placed have disappeared from both inventory and where they were placed whenever somebody enters the nether. Internet connection is not the issue as all players are recieving same issues. However players playing on iphone version are occasionally recieving a message saying that an update needs to be downloaded though there is no update available and there is no similar message when playing on pc.

Have tried importing the the world and opening as a single player world and the lag in the nether is still there. This lag has only started happening in the last 12h though and has never happened before since I started the realm.
