Ever since the update the realm has been lagging really bad. Its smooth for the first few minutes and then it becomes almost unplayable. It used to run smoothly before the update. I've tried setting the region somewhere else but it didn't work. Note that the realm is connected to the Washington, USA region.

However, this issue is Invalid.
Simply stating that "My game is laggy" is not helpful for Mojang to diagnose your issue. If you can pinpoint a specific cause when lag happens for you, please open a new report for that specific issue. If you think this might be a hardware issue please contact Community Support as they might be able to help with your issue.
Keep in mind that Mojang is constantly optimizing the game and simply playing the game provides feedback to Mojang on which parts cause performance issues.

Similar issue. I run a good pc, and realms used to work great. Now it’s dropping under 10fps after 10 or so minutes and accessing the pause menu or the inventory is almost impossible due to incredibly long load times. It does not seem to matter what region you use because the same thing keeps happening.

I have tried reinstalling the game.
None of the mods I use have updated recently. If they did, they work fine on an offline or online local minecraft world. However, they are still posted below.
