Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this report,
Me and my friends have been using Minecraft Realms for over two years, with new realms being made on and off. As of recently, we created a new realm for the Chase the Skies drop. Throughout the entire period, there has been extreme lag spikes on the realm server. The spikes don’t seem to be at specific times, and occur at random, but when they do happen (which is quite often) the game becomes practically unplayable. I’ve done some research to see if this was a common problem and have seen many people complaining about the same issue, so I am very certain this isn’t a server specific issue.
This issue may have already been noticed, but I figured I would make a report anyway. Unfortunately I don’t know what might be causing it to happen, as it happens at random times for long periods, and seems to trigger randomly when someone joins the world but I can’t say for certain if that may be relevant to this issue. It also doesn’t seem to occur when certain people join the realm, as the lag has started for many different people sometimes, but acted normal when they join other times. I wish I could provide better information but we simply do not know what it could be. We’ve troubleshooted our graphics by all turning of the new Vibrant Visuals, which didn’t change the situation, and it most probably isn’t our devices as we have never experienced this problem before.
If I had to take a guess I would say it is simply a problem within the servers, our realm is hosted on the Virginia, USA region, so it may only be affecting that region and none of the posts I’ve seen relating to this issue have stated the server region, so it may be a regional or widespread issue. I hope this report was helpful in some way, hopefully the problem can be resolved soon. Thank you!
Environment
Virginia, USA server region.
Well it happened the same with us before the update the lag was very less to absolutely zero after the update we experienced the lag but we ignored it but it just increased by a lot I used a uae and singapore which was close to us but nothing change we were total maybe 8 to 9 friends not including me then I started noticing some stuff like when I played alone and I was in nether the lag was zero but when some other player joined and were at the base in the overworld i started experiencing lag so there was always a player at the base when we played making the game delay or lag or i started noticing that the happy ghast made the game delay or lag we had one before making the delay or lag but it was less so we ignored it then I brought in 3 more making it unplayable so I tested my theory by moving the ghast out of the range of every player far I didn't want to kill them so I moved them which just lagged the hell out of my ps4 but when I moved and came back to the base the lag was zero absolutely zero so after that to further test my theory I went to the location where happy ghast and made one friend to stay at the base and guess what the game delayed or lagged a lot so it proved my theory and our realm went back to normal so I think you have the same problem as me so move the happy ghast out of every player range and play peacefully I just hope mojang fixes this issue because happy ghast are very useful
I hope this helps you if it doesn't I don't know anymore than that
