This has been an issue affecting my realm for over two years. If I fly around my world and enter a building, it is quite often that I happen upon entire areas of light that seemingly come from nowhere. I will also add that this seems to affect my world which was generated in 2019 prior to the caves and cliffs generation update. It also happens regardless whether vibrant visuals are on or off.

To “fix” the bug I must leave and rejoin my realm, and the bug disappears in the area I spawned in. However, if I fly out into a different area I will start to encounter the bug again. Whilst this does not have a major impact on gameplay itself, it hinders the visuals significantly. For example, If I want to take a screenshot of a build I regularly have to rejoin the realm. Attempts have been made to fix it, but none have completely ironed this bug out.

Sometimes you can get big areas of light (entire rooms) , and sometimes those areas are small.

Playing on the world locally reveals no issues with lighting. This seems only to be a realms issue. I think it happens on chunk borders or some other criteria because there are some areas which almost never have this issue. The bug is visible in interiors.

I believe that this is linked to another bug where strange terrain loads in, and then disappears when flying around.

Steps to reproduce:

An old world from 2019 set to creative mode

Start flying around.

Expected result:
no visual errors, strange terrain, or lighting bugs
