Netherite armour and weapons did not survive lava after death.

Fell into lava after being hit by a ghast attack. Burned in lava until death, unable to reach safe ground. All non- netherite items burned up immediately and assumed my netherite sword and armour would still be floating. My partner stayed nearby in the area of the nether until I returned. Went back to coordinates of death, plus it was near my base, and was unable to retrieve my netherite gear. It had vanished or glitched from reality. I took a fire resistant potion and searched the lava area to no avail. Built that armour up with as many high level enchantments for years and now it's gone.
