This may be a double up but I was unable to find another bug report detailing this unless people have given them odd names.
After Minecraft Bedrock / Realms version 26.21+ / currently observed on Version 26.23, the Realm Edit World > Behavior Packs / Resource Packs screen can fail to show packs that are actually still active on the Realm.
The affected packs are still present in the actual saved world state and still function in-game, but when opening the pack list, they appear to be missing from both the Behavior Packs and Resource Packs active lists. If the user backs out and chooses Discard Changes, the packs remain active on the Realm.
This appears to be a Realms pack-list/index/UI desync rather than the packs actually being removed from the world.
Environment
Platform: Minecraft Bedrock
Realm type: Minecraft Realms
Realm version shown in manual save screen: Version 26.23
Steps to Reproduce
Have a Realm with multiple behavior/resource packs applied.
Confirm the packs are working in-game.
Create a manual Realm save using Save active world.
Observe the manual save details. The save lists the active packs, including Leaf Essentials.
Open Edit World for the Realm.
Go to Behavior Packs and/or Resource Packs.
Observe that some packs, specifically Leaf Essentials in this case, are missing from the Active pack list.
Back out and choose Discard Changes.
Rejoin the Realm.
Expected Results
The Edit World > Behavior Packs / Resource Packs active pack lists should accurately show all packs currently applied to the Realm.
If a pack is active in the world, working in-game, and listed in the manual save’s pack summary, it should also appear in the active pack list. (see image of world saves - second image in comments)
Opening the pack list should not create a temporary state where active packs appear missing. (see third image in comments, of the world pack listing as it appears when opened - taken directly after the save was done)
Actual Results
The manual Realm save screen lists Leaf Essentials as part of the active saved world snapshot.
However, after opening Edit World > Behavior Packs and Resource Packs, Leaf Essentials is missing from both active pack lists.
Despite being missing from the pack list UI, the pack is still active on the Realm. If the user backs out and selects Discard Changes, Leaf remains active and functional in-game.
This suggests the pack list screen is displaying an incomplete or stale representation of the Realm’s actual active packs.
Additional Observations
Reverting to a manual save that lists Leaf Essentials restores/keeps Leaf active, confirming the pack is saved with the world snapshot.
The pack is not necessarily removed from runtime. It is absent only from the Edit World pack-list UI.
Choosing Discard Changes after viewing the incorrect pack list keeps the pack active.
The concern is that choosing to save/apply changes from this incorrect pack-list state may rewrite the Realm’s active pack list without packs that are actually still active.
This seems to happen after Realms re-parses/revalidates packs, especially after changing or opening pack management after recent Realm updates.
This may be related to Realms pack-manager state becoming out of sync with the actual world save/runtime pack state.
Realms is also just plain refusing to add some addons and giving the message in the first image in the comments. It will then just randomly decide to add them at at any given time
Impact
This makes Realm pack management unreliable because the UI may show that active packs are not applied when they actually are. Users may accidentally re-add, remove, or save over the active pack list and potentially break working add-ons.
It also makes troubleshooting difficult because there are now separate states:
Packs active and working in-game.
Packs listed in the manual save snapshot.
Packs shown in the Edit World active pack list.
These states do not always match.
Environment
Win 11

note: i have updated my bug report to be more comprehensive as i have more information since i originally posted it.
pack list as it shows when viewed in the world showing mismatch of information - note the rp was also missing the pack, but when exiting and DISCARDING the “changes” which i did not make the packs are still there when you go into the world itself despite not showing in the list here
(I also use an edited version of leaf, due to an entirely different realms issue, so if you need it for testing i will have to email it to someone or possibly upload it here)
so i modified the pack and the bp is still silently disappearing if you go into the pack list and will reload and save fo the realm if you select it. however the rp is being fully rejected on realm start randomly and inconstantly despite these results above from the online validation tool and unable to be reapplied without the version number being bumped.
this is further impacted by the fact that the world is obviously not saving the pack data correctly - from what i can see anyhow. it’s extremely frustrating.
i now have the updated addon correctly working on one of the 3 realms i have access too that i have been trying to put it on but not the other two and i am too scared to attempt to update my main realm to the new version.
There is definitely odd behavior with Realms and uploading RP and BP. I have used a custom RT pack for my realm for about 4 years, and just got around to finally changing things and find I cannot add the new pack because the manifest has “raytracing” in it’s capabilities, yet all save states of the realm before trying to update the RP had raytracing in the capabilities. If there are changes like this where you are denying packs, please give us an error or something to follow the steps and find out why a pack that worked 5 months ago now just stops working with a silent error that the user does not see.
OP, yes if you save changes, the pack disappears, at least it does for packs with the “raytracing” capability, like my realm. I can load old states with the RP attached, but if I go into the management menu, the pack is missing and will ask me to save changes. If saved, pack is gone, need to discard to keep it on the realm.
To clarify: I’ve been using the same pack that I’ve been updating for four years, every major block change that needed PBR bits added got an update. Last update that uploaded successfully to the realm was January of this year.
