Hi. So, I've been with Realms for about a month now, and me and my friend who go on the realm have been experiencing really bad lag. Block lag, which is where you mine or place a block and then instantly reappears/disappears is a constant. There is atypically a 2-3 second lag between action and response, such as opening a door, a chest, attacking an enemy, etc. I've thought this could have been for the amount of villagers in one place but killing them and it doesn't change anything.

Ive always had this issue with realms i can run commandblock based block built trains with a few cars on my computer on my world with a few people on and it runs fine but if i am in a realm by myself the realm can barely handle just the locomotive, realms are really underpowered, thats your issue but yeah TLDR is realms are running on ridiculously underpowered hardware especially being that they are the "premium" option and all the restrictions they have like 10 max players and 16 chunk max render distance, id rather pay 10 amonth and have the render distance limit removed and get a realm that can run on par with my dated computer lol
Having the same issue and it has nothing to do with my internet speed as these are my test results:
156.8 Mbps download
164.4 Mbps upload
I have a powerful computer so there is no issue there, so its on Mojangs end. The server lag is unbearable and I don't have the same issues on servers like Shotbow or Hypixel. Same thing with Singleplayer. I want to keep playing with friends on realm but it seems i might have to use a 3rd party server provider like google which i rather not as it would complicate things more than it needs to be. This should definitely be a priority as Realm should be highspeed due to the fact that it's provided by MOJANG the creaters of minecraft rather than having a server like Shotbow or Hypixel beat them.
