Most addons I've tried to use aren't working with my realm but my single player world they all work fine.

I've also been having this issue and have reported this weeks ago, please search for the post and add a vote and watch to it so this can be resolved.
I wouldn't hold your breath for a response. There have been numerous reports for this issue and most of them don't even have a response.
