Today as of 20/3/20 my realm stoped working.
When I go into the realm it states "joining realm this may take a few moments" then it crashes. This is the same for my friends when they attempt to join. I can't really say any more helpful information cause that's all there is.

Same here, Had realms for a while before at midnight last night 19th March 2020 my Java 1.15 realms stopped working with an "An error occurred. Please try again later." No one of my friends can join the realm
I am also facing the same problem! Still with no solution from anyone, except that this was the only way of communicating with "mojang", I didn't find any email, or support.
The days go by and no solution.
Version = 1.14.30

I have this issue also with my realm.
All details the same, it happened in the last 12 hours - last activity.
Joining realm displays for approximately 3 minutes then an error message displays.
None of my friends can join either - very frustrating seeing i pay for realms plus.
UPDATE: fixed now approximately 2 hours after first notice. still no idea why - would certainly like to know so I can fix it faster next time
