Ever since the realms shutdown on November 6th, I have not been able to log into my friends realm server. Every time I try to join the game, it says "Disconnected due to world corruption. Try reopening the world or restarting from a previous backup". What exactly did that shutdown do? Is this just downtime and I have to wait it out? And does my friend who owns the server have to do something with the realm?

The issue has been resolved. It turns out my friend was supposed to to use a backup or something, which he did have, but did not tell me about.
