My realm recently has been lagging when certain people join in. This is weird because on other realms it doesn't happen. So is there something wrong with the seed or is there something wrong with the people's accounts that are lagging the realm?

We're tracking general realm lag issues in REALMS-4642, so this ticket is being resolved and linked as a duplicate.
If you would like to add a vote and any extra information to the main ticket it would be appreciated.
However, some activity can cause more lag for all players on realms (and other multiplayer environments such as BDS and shared worlds). This can include cramming lots of mobs into a small space (lots of collisions), complicated and constant motion redstone devices, portal-based gold farms, spawning large numbers of mobs, and others. You might ask on one of the technical minecraft forums on discord or reddit for ways to reduce lag.
