When renaming items in an anvil on Realms, the name preview when you hover over the item shows each edit in order with a delay, although the final name when you take the item out is correct. This behaviour also results in the following (Youtube video):
When reopening the interface and attempting to rename again, even for different items, the name previews of the previous item can still be shown
When renaming items in IME-based languages (Chinese, Japanese etc.), the name preview backspaces everything and retypes the next edit, which is much more delayed than when typing in latin/non IME-based inputs.
When taking an item that is in the process of updating its name preview, there is a few seconds of lag before the item shows up correctly.
Steps to reproduce
Place an anvil
Obtain some items
Place obtained item in anvil
Click the input field
Hover your mouse over the output slot
Keysmash a name into the input field
→ ❌ Each letter in the name preview shows up with a delay
Compare this to singleplayer where the name preview and what is typed in the input field is synced pretty much real-time.
Notes
This ticket is meant only for the issue as stated in the summary, as I assume the collateral behaviour listed will also become non-reproducible when the main issue is fixed; the main issue and also its collaterals don't seem to occur on singleplayer. Separate tickets will be created if this isn't the case.
This issue has been tested on a separate Windows device with no addons, and also doesn't seem to occur on Android.
