Marketplace 'get this item' button links to blank page

Hi,

I tried to purchase the Star Wars mash-up pack in the web store. When I click the button, I encounter a broken link.

In Firefox, I get this error message:

  • The address wasn't understood

    • Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (minecraft) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

    • You might need to install other software to open this address.

and this link opens in a new tab:

minecraft://openStore/?showStoreOffer=713a0d2f-29ff-4d5f-a2f6-aee8bdac0583

In Chrome, I just get a blank page. That's it.

You guys seem to have a redirect issue to the store there, I guess.

Please let me know if this is an issue and when you have a fix for it, or if I did anything wrong here and let me know why this appeals like that.

Best,

Sebastian

Can you send the link that it sends you to?

I did. It‘s right in the ticket.

But have it here as well:

minecraft://openStore/?showStoreOffer=713a0d2f-29ff-4d5f-a2f6-aee8bdac0583

opens in a new tab.

Guys, seriously. It's an apparent broken web link in the store. I work in games development on the live and business side as well. A broken payment link is an immediate must-fix to me. It's not even that I desperately want to purchase it any more, but this a severe disprioritization in my eyes. I am really speechless about this and will watch how it continues from here.

I was having this issue the other day and I for the life of me couldn't work out what was wrong.

I figured out that it was because Minecraft Marketplace is only currently available for the Bedrock version of Minecraft ([source|https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360035347351-Marketplace-FAQs)] and I only had the Java Edition installed. When you click on "GET THIS ITEM", you notice that it redirects you to a webpage with a URL that is essentially trying to open up a store on a different client – this would be the Minecraft app for Windows 10 (or whichever operating system you were trying to open it on) which runs the Bedrock version. The link fails to redirect you anywhere if you don't have the Minecraft app from the Microsoft Store (Bedrock).

I bought the app from the Microsoft Store and then tried to purchase the Star Wars Mash-Up again, and the "GET THIS ITEM" link opened up the newly downloaded Minecraft app perfectly. I then had to purchase it from Minecraft Marketplace on the app.

Hope this helps.

This link works as long as you have Minecraft Bedrock Edition installed on your computer.

It's fine for me if it's fine for you. I just happened to stumble over a not working payment link and wanted to let you know. I have no interest in getting this fixed, as I bought the content already weeks ago on console instead.

But working at in Live Ops myself, I considered it useful to let you know you have an issue there. I would have liked to know and get it fixed asap, if I it was on my game. That's all. 🙂

it did that to me as well but i was on pc

Is it still an issue for you? Can confirm, that this link works as long as you have Minecraft Bedrock Edition installed on your computer. It redirects to the in-game store. If there is no game installed on the PC, the redirection tab does not work at all.
