I got minecraft so I can also play with friends. I signed in and made an account like it told me to if I wanted to play with friends however when ever I try to join a friend on I pad it doesn’t connect to the multiplayer sever

If you are trying to play cross-platform (Ipad and Java on the computer), then it won't work. You have to play bedrock on bedrock or java on java.
