When I sign in at minecraft.net/en-us and click "log in" I get a brief message in the left bottom corner that says "waiting for api-minecraft.arkoselabs.com" but then nothing happens.

I'm unable to reproduce this. Please see if community support can help at all as it's possible the issue could be being caused by a 3rd party program on your PC, such as a VPN.
