I am playing on IOS v1.14.60 and experienced this issue a few days ago. I was hosting another user for LAN play when the game started lagging and not allowing me to log out and save game. I exited the app and went back in only to find that the horse I was riding was gone. The game had automatically saved the location I was in, but not the horse.

Found this out in my SMP world as well. A Soul Speed book cannot be combined with another book or pair of boots with an anvil if you are in survival mode.
