I tried this before I logged the ticket, which is clearly stated in the description (and a screenshot of the setting is included). This is the second time someone has suggested I try something that was referenced in the description of the ticket. If you read the comments you would know that as well. Please read the issue and comments before making suggestions.
No - this issue has persisted in all versions of Minecraft that I have played. Still happening on 1.19.10.
Already updated the setting back on 2/15/21 - see prior comments.
Unfortunately it is still an issue.
[media]Just checked, and unfortunately this is still an issue with 1.17.2.
[media]Why is this marked as resolved?
Yes - I do not have cheats enabled, which I believe is required to turn mob griefing off.
Something else worth mentioning on this issue - the exit portal only formed in half of the bedrock platform where the dragon perches, and only 1 torch appeared on the podium. Another indication that something was buggy.
The way I am tracking which GPU is being used by Minecraft is by looking at the GPU Engine column in Task Manager. GPU 0 is my onboard card, and GPU 1 is my dedicated card. With "HAGS" turned off, it is always GPU 0 for Minecraft (regardless of the NVIDIA Control Panel and Windows Graphics Settings). With HAGS on, it switches back and forth dynamically. It seems to help some, but does not resolve the issue.
Assuming you are talking about the "Manage 3D Settings" page in the NVIDIA Control Panel? I have set the NVIDIA card as the preferred graphics processor in both the Global Settings, and for Minecraft specifically in the Program Settings. That was the first thing I tried. Then I did the same in the Windows 10 Graphics Settings. Neither make any difference. I also tried turning on the mysterious "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling." That actually does make some difference, in that Minecraft will flip back and forth between the 2 GPUs when it is on, but it does not seem to fundamentally fix the issue. I still frequently have performance problems, and the NVIDIA card is not being used full time like it should be based on my settings.
@TR - I have read that disabling the onboard GPU can cause your display to stop working, so have been hesitant to try disabling the card altogether.
@Marek Kedzierski - I already tried this, as stated in the issue description. The reason I logged this issue is because Minecraft is not respecting this setting, while all other applications / games I have installed do.
Any update on this? Minecraft performs very poorly on my machine despite the fact that it's a fairly beefy laptop, and I would just like to be able to play the game without problems.
I am relatively new to the game and just defeated the Ender Dragon for the first time in (v1.16.20), and there was no egg on the tower. Seems this may still be a bug? I have looked at the world spawn, as well as all around the Exit Portal. If it makes any difference, I defeated the dragon in Peaceful mode, and went through the End Gateway before looking for the dragon egg. After going to the end city I remembered I hadn't gotten the egg, but when I came back it wasn't there.
Pretty sure if I disable my integrated card my display will stop working.
So is there no mechanism for me getting support for performance problems / application crashes?
I don't have an opinion on the source of the problem, that's why I posted this. I am merely telling you I have ensured my drivers are up to date, and I believe my system significantly exceeds the minimum system requirements. Do you agree? What is my path to getting the issue resolved if not via this bug tracker?
Ok - but how am I supposed to get a resolution for my problem?
Also - I discovered there was a slightly newer GPU driver for my NVIDIA card (version 27.21.14.6109), so installed that, but I am still having performance issues.
@OcelotOnesie - I no longer have the computer with this issue. My new computer as a 3050 Ti, and it does not have this issue.
