From what I can tell, the error occurs when there has happened to much to the server administratively (reset many worlds, creating new worlds, anything in the configuration).
I got the error again even with the auto-updates turned off, but after waiting half an hour, where I had closed minecraft, it worked again.
I think that Mojangs servers think that we try to DDOS them, when we do to many things, and thats why they're cutting our connection.
TL;DR
If the disabling automatic Java updates didn't work, try closing Minecraft for about half an hour, and then maybe it'll work.
