I found some Info that might potentially be helpful about this particular issue. Whenever the console seems to freeze or get extremely slow responses, there is one particular function that still works 100% fine: The zoom feature!
For example: I launch the Minecraft software, than once I'm on the title screen I press Home, then my console ''freezes''. If I press any button, including long-pressing the Home button, the Screenshot button and even pressing or holding the Power button, it will do nothing or it will be extremely delayed. BUT, if I double tap the Home button to activate the Zoom feature, it will work right away, just as usual, without any delay whatsoever.
Now, I don't know exactly what that means but this shows that not the whole system is frozen. Hope this is helpful.
