Ok. I can understand how you can misunderstand the issue in that way. Sorry for thinking bad thought about you 🙂
But imagine the item you see, is the same all the way around (except for a cork on the top). So when viewing in third person, it will always be white no matter how u rotate it (which it should not). These white faces are inverted cubes so to say. They are visible on the inside and not on the outside. So normally when you view the item (on the ground or in the gui) it will show it's inside with a white outline. And that is no matter the viewing angle.
Anyway. Back-faces are not meant to be rendered no matter what. And they are not rendered on items placed and items dropped on the ground and on item in the gui. Only when in third person view. So this is clearly a bug.
I am making the resource pack. And no, it can not be resolved from within the resource-pack. To be honest I have to restrain myself here for not pointing out a thing or two about your reply. Anyway.
Issue is NOT resolved, so please open it again.
Okay. Thanks for at least taking a look at this.
cheers
Snapshot 15w45a
Well it partly works. Maybe I should have been more specific. The stairs was only an example. It's not working for many (all?) non-solid blocks.
So with snapshot 15w45a, stairs seams to works. But e.g. Slabs (lower half) does not work still.
I would have thought it was a general routine for all non-solid blocks that was in need of a fix. And thus fixing it all. But I guess I was wrong there.
Would it help if I compiled a list of all affected blocks? It would be a lot of work to do so. And I didn't do it, as I am expecting all non-solid blocks to be affected.
Keep up the good work 🙂
Kind of the same... Maybe. Though in MC-81834 they mix two problems together imho. Main thing in MC-81834 is that the shading is done wrong. And then they blame the "shade" tag. My problem is that the shading can not be turned off (false) at all, with the "shade" tag. Which of course is the sole purpose of this tag.
