Update:

After trying to launch the game over and over, one time after 5mins there was no crash and the game finally launched. Not sure if that's helpful? Seems totally inconsistent.

I still have this issue. Minecraft is totally unplayable on Switch for me. Black screen for 5mins then "error has occurred" and closes. Some information incase it's helpful:

When I updated recently I started having this problem.

I was playing in realms recently. I Purchased new starwars classic skins and used the Jawa skin. I pressed download and loaded a previous 6hours back up of my realm but was playing in it after that. That's all the information I have since it's all I can do. I'll just have to wait for this bug to be fixed before I can play Minecraft again, I'm really sad.

I really hope this is your top priority to fix. I don't mind a few odd bugs here and there, but not being able to launch the game is just.. sad.
