Just because it's been like this forever doesn't mean it's right.

I don't know about the Minecraft internals but I imagine changing signs might break things.

This is fixed now in 1.13.2. You may close it.

Very confusing error message. I thought it was nether portal related first, (i did have some desynced portals).

After some googling it seems like it's nothing to worry about and that it's a mojang bug.

Well, I reran the conversion with Spigot and I got it to work.

But the errors I had can't be because of Spigot because I haven't used that. The map is quite old tho' and some parts were in *.mcr format back in the day.

Mojang should really release a 1.13.2 release that makes conversion work.

The Mojang "solution" to fly through the chunks before you convert isn't really a valid solution.

Tired converting with spigot, it did get better but not perfect. So there must be something else to it aswell.

What I noticed is that I still have random holes in the map, also look at the weird generation in the swamp to the top right. That's not a border error like the one in the water, that's something else.

I also updated one of the region files that contains chunks that doesn't get converted.

I inspected the region structure and it's not in the new format for some reason, but more than that I can't research.

My guess is that 1.13.1 server needs optimizing, it's more sluggsish/resource heavy than 1.12.x I've compared with both Spigot and PaperMC and eating works well with those servers.

Done, doesn't contain much more information but here it is.

Edited typos, probably why the bot reacted.

Yes, it's back again. I haven't played MC for some time but i did a few days ago and noticed that a chest was open when it really wasn't.

Haven't tried 1.9 but if the server goes beyond the set max limit for jvm memory, then it is still an issue.

No idea, my server never got to the point that it crashed. And now I haven't really checked, I'm on 1.8.2pre1 now and no one really played during christmas. I only have about 5 players online during peak so it might be a reason why it doesn't crash for me.

It is still a concern in the 1.8.1-prereleases, both with boats and horses... not sure about minecarts tho'.

I see this happen a lot with boats in 1.8. It leaves a copy of a player where he started, can be very confusing.

Do you have enough light? Otherwise they pop....

Yes, I don't think they really disappear but they glitch through blocks and have a really weird behavior causes them to end up in places they shouldn't really be.

I've had items flying through the roof and gliding down on the ground below. They can be very hard to find sometimes.

This is still an issue in 1.8.1, it's better but not as good as the 1.7.x versions.
Server can't keep up and it misses ticks because of that.

Sounds like you have something in your world that's bringing the server down to its knees.

Do you have a lot of entities somewhere, like a mob farm or something?

I saw one of Ethos villagers suffocate and die, for some reason it was stuck in the floor when he came to his villager village in his cave.

I don't think they despawn any more, I think they get killed or sometimes fall through blocks and suffrocates.
I've had villagers locked up in a prison for a very long time now and they're all alive.
