MCPE-85069 Beacon UI doesn't update properly when changing effects Confirmed

Comments

Also, when selecting an item in the hotbar, the item name shows up in the actionbar, but when you switch to an empty slot, the name of the previously selected item doesn't go away. It does in java, but in bedrock it doesn't.

It's still a bug in 1.18.10.

What happens is that whenever you open a beacon and set it to an effect, the UI doesn't update properly, even though it gives you that effect.

Due to that bug, you can select Haste I on a level 1 beacon, then change it to Haste I again using a valid item, and again, and again, and so on... just wasting materials. This exact situation isn't a big deal, since you can just not select the same effect to not waste materials.

However, the real problem comes when you load a world that was created in a version prior to the bug that has a beacon already set to an effect, Speed II for example. When you try to change the effect to Haste II on a newer version affected by the bug, you perfectly can, even though in the UI Speed II will still be selected, but when you try to change it back to Speed II, you just can't, since the UI thinks it's still on Speed II.
