Minecaft launches fine but the play menu does not display see picture below. recently stopped working after windows update.

i've been having the same problem for 3 days! i've tried everything and so far nobody has really known what to do. sometimes if i'm lucky i'll load into a game or a random distorted steve appears on the loading screen lol. i'll attach an image and a video
