Fell under the bedrock in the Nether

Was going through a nether portal so someone in the overworld in my realm could sleep and was spinning around pressing LT for no reason and accidentally clicked on a bed however, the game still registered that I was in the Nether portal and took me through the Nether even though I was sleeping in a bed and when I got through the Nether, I was at the overworld coordinates but in the Nether and as I was at -40 in the overworld it put me under the bedrock in the Nether, I later reset my game and lost all my stuff from falling through the world.
