Contents of buckets like milk, or water disappear when moving to inventory. Made 2 cakes and lost 2 of the 6 buckets, and received no cake

This seems to happen most if the bucket is left in the hotbar and not moved immediately to inventory. If left in the hotbar, the contents of milk or water bucket disappear from the bucket. I have experienced this on realm play but have not tried to replicate on single player world.
