Ok, so this is not a bug report but a question - still, it could be considered a bug that I have to file a bug report to get it answered.
I've downloaded and set up BDS on my LAN. It works - I can connect just fine from a PE device. I cannot see it on XBox Bedrock Edition on the same LAN. It says: "you cannot play multiplayer because of how your microsoft account is set up" - I've enabled all settings on aka.ms/accountsettings. I do not have a XBox Live Gold (or XBox Live?) subscription.
Does Minecraft BDS require such a subscription (I don't think it should, given the fact that I'm not using any external resources provided by Mojang/Microsoft, aside from the account authentication server which is not strictly necessary).
