After accessing console (Server 2019) and closing RDP, users cannot get in game

Hi!

So I run the MineCraft Bedrock Alpha server.   Everything works great...  until...

Sometimes I'll log into the server via RDP, and then close the RDP session out...

and then, no one can join.  It will say hang on them saying "Locating Server..."

I can RDP back into the server, and then press enter on the console, and then it works again.

Not sure why this happens - it acts like it's waiting on my input but I (don't believe) i've typed anything...      I'm guessing this is an OS thing, but figured I'd throw it out there.

In attacked screeny, you can see there's a 2 hour (or so) lag in the auto-compact, and when it he tried to join.  He contacted me, I remote'd into the server, hit enter, and he's able to connect.

Thanks!

Hi J,

Windows has a "feature" whereby clicking into a console will turn on "Select" (don't know the official name of it). When the console is in this state, it freezes active workloads until the state is removed. You can see it in the screenshot below. This is what will be causing your inability to connect.

Unfortunately you are correct, this is a Windows thing and not a Mojang bug so not something they can fix so I'll submit this one for closure.

I'll just find a VNC program...  is Ultra VNC still good?  I'd love to use connect wise but price, etc,

Thanks!!

You should be fine to use RDP, just check before you disconnect that the title bar for your Bedrock_Server.exe doesnt have that "Select" in the title bar that I highlighted.

It happens when you click within the command console.

I use RDP just fine, just gotta keep an eye out before disconnecting is all 🙂
